Four Chairs Furniture + Design’s Classic European Home

Inspired by the warmth and character of traditional European style, Lindy Allen envisioned her Summer 2026 My Rowe Design as a space that felt “curated over time, rather than perfectly styled all at once.” Drawing inspiration from English country houses and antique interiors, she created a series of interconnected spaces that feel layered and deeply personal. “We wanted every room to feel warm and storied,” explains Lindy, “balancing traditional influences with a softer, more livable approach to design.”

“This space was inspired by the feeling of a collected European home — layered, timeless, and deeply personal.”

Throughout the space, richly patterned wallpapers and vintage style textiles establish a sense of history, while thoughtfully chosen furnishings deliver comfort and ease. “The silhouettes feel classic yet relaxed,” says the designer, “and the softness of the fabrics adds warmth and comfort against the more structured architectural elements and darker accents.” In the bedroom, a Glenwood Bed upholstered in a warm neutral boucle creates a serene focal point, framed by a luxurious valance in velvet and gingham that lends an heirloom quality to the space. A Madeline Chaise Chair layered with heritage-inspired fabrics reinforces the room’s relaxed elegance, while a charming desk alcove featuring a Provence Writing Table and Odessa Slip Dining Chair offers a cozy spot for work or quiet reflection.

In the adjoining living room, an 87” Bruges Sofa upholstered in a romantic floral print provides an inviting and eye-catching centerpiece, paired with two Gigi Ottomans in deep cocoa velvet that introduce a subtle note of modern contrast. Soft knit throws, collected artwork, and warm lighting complete Lindy’s vision of a home designed for meaningful living. “We imagined someone who values beauty in everyday life,” she explains, “someone who loves hosting, collecting meaningful pieces, and creating a home that feels welcoming and personal.” The result is a space that feels elegant yet approachable, where quiet mornings, conversation-filled evenings, and lived-in comfort all naturally coexist.

Sources of Inspiration

A lot of our inspiration comes from historic interiors, fashion, fine art, and travel. We’re especially inspired by spaces that evoke emotion; we love rooms that feel atmospheric, timeless, and deeply lived-in rather than trend-driven.

Travel Destination

Europe is always a major source of inspiration, especially the English countryside and historic cities filled with architecture, antiques, and quiet charm. There’s a richness and sense of history in those spaces that continually influences our work.

Room to Design

Living rooms are always our favorite spaces to design because they naturally become the heart of the home. They allow for layering textures, fabrics, lighting, and collected pieces in a way that feels both functional and expressive.

Music to Fuel Creativity

We typically design in silence throughout the office, allowing the creative process and the details of the space to fully hold our attention. Occasionally, when we need a reset or lighter energy in the studio, we’ll play today’s country music, a little Post Malone, or something softer and familiar like Kacey Musgraves or Taylor Swift.
